Sarah Maides was the overall year's Midhurst in Bloom competition.
There was a record number of entries this year and judges, John Humphris, holder of the Royal Horticultural Society Victoria Medal of Honour, and Town Councillors Glyn Upjohn and Win Passmore were faced with a much more difficult task than usual.
Whilst Sarah's lovely walled garden was judged to be the best overall garden prizes were shared between six local gardeners :
WENDY LIDDLE Best Large Garden
LESLEY PEARCE Second Prize - Design & Planting
ROGER & MARGARET SKINNER Best Small Scale Garden
MICHAEL GATES Best Small Garden
BRIAN KITCHENER Best Newly Planted.
All will receive vouchers for Rotherhill Nurseries which co sponsors the event with the Town Council. sarah will also receive a cup donated by Rotherhill which will in future be awarded to the overall winner each year.
The Town Council would like to thank all those who entered the competition and our judges who determined the results of the competition with their usual wisdom, discernment and good humour.
